"A living testament to a remarkable success story."

Guy Savy bought Bird Island in 1967 and cleared vital nesting sites for the Sooty Terns, enabling the 16,000 pairs to grow to 750,000 pairs.
The birds begin to gather in the sky in March, start to land towards the end of May and laying begins in June. The last of the juveniles fledge by the end of October.
